PE & Sport Premium – Summary for Our Website
At St Catherine’s, we use the PE & Sport Premium to ensure all pupils enjoy high‑quality physical activity, sport and wellbeing opportunities. Our aim is to make sustainable improvements to teaching, participation and pupil confidence, while ensuring every child—regardless of circumstance—has full access to sport and enrichment.
Our Aims
- Increase daily physical activity for all pupils.
- Ensure PE teaching is consistently high in quality.
- Broaden the range of sports and active experiences available.
- Increase participation in competitive sport.
- Embed physical activity and wellbeing into whole‑school life.
How We Use the Funding
Our 2024/25 allocation of £20,267 is used to:
- Enhance daily activity through structured lunchtimes, Play Leaders, targeted activity clubs and additional swimming provision.
- Improve teaching quality through expert coaching, team‑teaching and high‑quality planning tools such as PE Passport.
- Offer an exceptionally broad range of sports, including inclusive and non‑traditional options such as boccia, fencing, cheerleading and Forest School.
- Increase competitive opportunities through intra‑house events, cluster competitions and borough‑level tournaments.
How We Support Disadvantaged Pupils
At St Catherine’s, a child’s personal circumstances will never create a barrier to opportunity.
To ensure full access for disadvantaged pupils:
- All clubs are free of charge, removing all financial barriers.
- Transport is provided for competitions and events, ensuring every pupil can attend regardless of family circumstance.
- Families are actively engaged and encouraged to support their child’s participation, particularly in cases where confidence, SEND needs or vulnerability may otherwise reduce involvement.
- SEND and Pupil Premium pupils are included in every half‑term’s club offer and are proactively targeted for participation.
- The school monitors attendance at clubs and sporting events to ensure equitable access for all.
This reflects our firm commitment that sport belongs to every child, and no pupil is ever prevented from taking part because of cost, transport, confidence or home circumstance.
